Jammin

Well, I did all I could do for Kris--2,500 text messages before my thumb gave out. Can't wait to see tonight!

Today is an absurdly beautiful day. I had errands to run, and I got to do one of my favorite things ever--drive with my windows down, playing fun music REALLY loud. I must look like a fool, but I could not care less. Now that I have straight hair, at least I don't have an Afro when I get home.

I realized today that I need to load some more good LOUD music to my iPod. You can't depend on the radio anymore--every time I tried to find something, Lady Gaga was hollering at me about her poker face. I did have a few gems already, though. I jammed (I know that's completely uncool to say, but I don't know what word kids these days are using instead) to Black Eyed Peas, Green Day and Aerosmith (I think Holiday and Jaded may be the best two rock songs ever).

It got me thinking, and I've already got a few more songs to download in mind. I want Gwen Stefani's Sweet Escape, Kanye West's Gold Digger, and a couple more. Does anyone have any other suggestions for me?

And yes, I know song titles are supposed to be italicized. My sense of propriety was overriden by my sense of laziness.

We have extremely different music tastes (I'd rather smash my MP3 player than put Kanye West on it LOL). A couple of my favorite songs right now are Blue October's Jump Rope and Blue Skies. Even if you aren't into Blue October, they're bouncy, fun songs.

I just got the new Greenday cd ("21st Century Breakdown"), and it is really good. I also highly recommend the most recent Nickleback cd ("Dark Horse" - I think). I'll get you a copy of both of them if you want!

Forget the ipod and go satellite! My hubby signed me up for Sirius radio for my birthday a couple years back, and now I am a total radio snob. And yes, my station is tuned to the 80's channel the vast majority of the time!

You know I could comment for days on this, so I'll try to keep it short; I actually have an itunes playlist called "fun music". Though I will warn you, most of my stuff is from the 90s. and i'm not a big Kanye fan, but I do Love GoldDigger :)

5000 Miles - The Proclaimers...it's a must
Buddy Holly - Weezer
Jai Ho from the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack will make you dance in your car

One Way or Another - Blondie
It Just Takes Some Time - Good Charlotte (I may have the title wrong...but you know what it is)

Jump Around - House of Pain
insert your favorite Lenny Kravitz song
Ready to Go - Republica
Fly - Sugar Ray
Mary Jane's Last Dance - Tom Petty
Yeah! - Usher
Island in the Sun - Weezer

If you're feeling nostalgic...C'mon Ride the Train by Quad City DJs (I swear, every time i hear that i'm reminded of dancing in a train around the dance floor at OPO our freshman year). And then there's always classic Boston "More Than a Feelin'" :)

ABBA is always great! There's nothing like Dancing Queen with the windows down! Seven by Prince is another one of my faves!
